Robin Barraclough

Post by Ian Grace »

I am saddened to have to report the passing of Robin Barraclough, Morris and MG historian, author and Honorary Member of the Register. Robin had for many years been virtually housebound down in Devon, caring for his sick wife, so was never able to meet up at any of our rallies, but he provided a steady stream of valuable historic material and authoritative articles for us over the years.

A full obituary will appear in M 152.

This from Peter Seymour this morning:

"Dear Ian,

I returned from Taunton yesterday evening. Robin's funeral was well attended by many members of the BNMC, MGCC and the SAH, as well as by members of his family including his twin sister. It was a simple Humanist funeral, conducted by a member of the Humanist Society who gave a eulogy. There was no singing by those in attendance but there was music by Mozart and by someone who was playing a clarinet. A very sad occasion as we have lost such a good and knowledgeable friend."
