1930 saloon for sale

Post by Ian Grace »

Andy Marx is wselling his 1930 saloon, located Pewsey, Wilts. Cotact Andy at andrewmarx22@gmail.com:

"Dear Ian,
Regret I hope to sell my Minor shortly as I am trying to buy an Alvis 12/50 which is rather more comfortable in my old age!
Would welcome any enquiries. I paid Mike Reeder £5000 for it in February 2008 and since then have repainted it (by hand) using carriage paint. Other works have been:
• Fit Hardy-Spicer prop shaft
• Refitted front brakes by swapping assemblies over to allow straight pull from the rear rather than 180 degree turn to pull from front. Fitted Bowden cables to front brakes
• Fitted new linings to transmission handbrake
• Rebuilt seat mountings and replaced wooden floor boards
• Added earth wiring to sidelights
• Fitted 5 new tyres and repainted wheels
• Replaced worn parts on carburettor
• Fitted rebuilt cutout
• Cleaned or replaced all grease nipples

Problems are:
• Dynamo only charges intermittently
• Speedometer/milometer not working
• Petrol tap worn and needs careful handling to avoid leaks. Lugs limiting movement are worn.
• Steering a bit worn but bearable!
• Oil filter needs repairing (will try and get this fixed locally)

It has only done about 500 miles since I bought it and goes and starts well. It is OHC and still has 3 speed gear box."
