2nd VMR Australasian Rally, Easter 2018

Post by Ian Grace »

More great news. We held our first ever rally in Australia in 2005, and now we will have our second rally two years from this weekend!

We're joining forces with the Morris Register of Queensland for four days of rallying along the Frazer Coast of Queensland, and Jayne and I are planning to be there for the weekend. We'll be visiting England in late March, then heading for Queensland via a few days in Singapore.

In 2005 we gathered eleven Minors in the Hunter Valley, so this time were going to see if we can do even better. We already know of someone who is working feverishly to have their car ready for the weekend and we're also hearing that some of our New Zealand members are investigating shipping their cars across. And of course, we'd welcome any other members from the UK, Europe, the USA, Japan, South Africa or elsewhere!

Members intending to enter should complete and return the form to be found in the Rally Brochure which can be downloaded here: http://www.vintageminor.co.uk/MRQ-VMR%2 ... 202018.pdf

Much more news anon.

Just returned from the 20th National Rally held at Warrnambool, Victoria. Four Minors turned up and all completed a 70 mile run on Saturday. Nice to see John Wein-Smith's car there with new owner Neil Frost.

With just under a year to the rally, we already have nine pre-war Minors entered, which is very impressive indeed. A number of other VMR members have entered non-Minor Morrises, so a fantastic four days is in store. Jayne and I have entered a 1928 Minor roadster loaned by Andrew Stewart, who has entered his 1930 Minor.
