Re: petrol
I just use unleaded without anything. I don't get the pinking that Ken describes not even on hills. These are both ohc cars. My understanding was that lead was only introduced into petrol in the late twenties anyway, and as Ken says the compression ratios are so low that pre-ignition should not be a...

For Sale - 3 speed gearbox
I have a spare 3 speed gearbox for sale. It is the later one without the transmission handbrake. The input shaft has wear on it but it is quite usable. The bell housing area has been repaired in the past, this repair looks good quality. I am missing the gear level itself but other than that it seems...
Re: sv brakes
I put a new master cylinder on the TC and the brake rod between the pedal and the piston needed quite a bit of adjustment, in fact I had to take 1/8 inch off it before it let the piston back properly, worth checking anyway. The opening bonnet sounds dreadful, must have been horrific thank heavens no...
Re: sv brakes
Just a thought, is there some free play between the pedal and the master cylinder piston, if the piston does not come right to the front of the cylinder the bypass valve in the mastercylinder does not open leaving pressure in the hydraulic line this in turn would push the pistons in the wheel cylind...

Re: M 131 Editorial
Ian, This should not be printed in the VMR magazine. Minor owners can do with thier cars what they want, they can participate or not as they see fit, each person is entitled to thier opinion and thier way. Including this in the magazine will be damaging to the VMR and potentially drive active and in...

Re: 1933-1934 Front seats
I want them for my MG but could do with a picture before I take the plunge. If they are no good for my needs I will of course pass on other interested parties emails to the vendor.
Toby could you post a picture of your seats or email which ever is easier?
cheers

1933-1934 Front seats
I have been offered a pair of front seats from a 1933-1934 Minor saloon, can any one tell me if they are the same as the ohc seats? They are tucked at the back of the chaps loft and so pictures can't be sent without huge effort so rather than mess him about I thought I would ask on here if anyone kn...

Morris 8 Starter Motors - for sale
I have here a couple of what I think are Morris 8 starter motors, both different but both M35G Lucas. No idea if they work although the one looks better than the other.

Re: MT 3286..........
Rich will make it run colder, lean hotter, so that does not sound like the problem. It would not be too unusual for a newley rebuilt engine to get hot the first few runs, but it should not keep on doing it it may still be early days yet.

Re: front brake cable conversion.
Whilst DF had Bowden cables when I bought it they were getting a bit stiff and the cables were not pulling back properly leaving the brakes on a little. Following discussions with other Minor owners I bought and fitted the Sports and Vintage M type Bowden cables on the front of DF, I also use the MG...
