Re: UK driving license question

Just looked on the AA website, it's an International Driving Permit you need, evidently recognised in conjunction with your current (USA?) licence.

Re: KR 5670

Surely it's the front brakes that work the hardest Ian, weight transfer under braking etc That's the reason that moderns have limiting valves fitted to the rears to prevent locking.

Re: KR 5670

Ian,
All the fuel taps I've seen have been 1/4" BSP threads, fortunately for me a very kind chap has volunteered to turn me up an adaptor on his lathe.

Philip

I have good reports of Vintage Carriages, www.vintagecarriages.net from people who have had work carried out by them. Normal disclaimers.

Re: Bowden conversion of the Minor braking system

Philip - here's your photos in normal size - they need to be about 900 pixels wide. If you don't have a graphics application that can re-size to pixel count, just send me the pics and I can do the business and upload for you. All part of the service! http://www.vintageminor.co.uk/Forumpix/Minor%20br...

Re: Bowden conversion of the Minor braking system

I think it will depend on the method of location of the outer cable. The backplates on my car are drilled in a similar fashion but when you look at the attachment you can see why, also bear in mind that the operating lever when fully applied should never exceed 90 degrees relative to a line through ...

Re: relicensing without MOT

Toby, Decided to licence my minor even though it was in no way roadworthy, a) to see if it could be done and b) so I could test it up and down the lane during restoration. As it had been off the road for 10+ years it was registered in the tax class "Not Licensed" so the local Post Office d...

Re: KR 5670

Ian, Original tap soldered up, presumably because of leaks, new tap beside it 1/4" BSP both ends, you can see the difference in size and also pitch of threads. I am now trying to find a 7/8" UNEF bolt that I can drill out and tap 1/4" BSP to make an adaptor, failing that I will have t...

Ian, So we are not dis(grace)d in this event I am prepared to transport, at no cost, a Minor and two passengers to this event and return, providing they are within reasonable travelling distance of my home, (nr. Eastbourne on the south coast), or can be met conveniently on the way. I am also not ave...
