Re: 1933 Maddox Fixed head Coupe EN 5810

Can anyone suggest a source of good/period 400 x 18" tyres in the UK? The new three-stud 18" tyres I have seen are all too fat at 4.5". I have Metzeler Block-K 4.00x18 sidecar tyres on my saloon. I ordered online from Germany without problems. Delivered to the door. They have a squar...

Re: clutch shudder

Martin's experience (and that of others) is worth reading. This Morris Service Sheet suggests the gauge is removed BEFORE measuring the pressure pins. It is the 1932 version which is fundamentally unchanged from the 1929 sheet. MORRIS MOTORS LTD. Service Information No. SV/7 MODEL : MORRIS MINOR S.V...

Some of the trams operating at Beamish Museum in County Durham during the Morris Register event last weekend. (2 Minors) 1. A 1924 Blackpool Standard Tram. In service until 1966. Sent to the Trollyville Museum in Ohio, this 78 seater returned to Blackpool in 2000 to be restored. Normally operates on...

Out and about on Drive It Day. The Scotswood Bridge over the Tyne at Blaydon. Nearby is this standard, commemorating a Tyneside’s Legend - Henry Clasper, oarsman and boat builder (1812 - 1870). Rowing was the mass sport of the working class before football and huge amounts of money was bet on races,...

Will either of the Minor Skinner Specials be at Prescott this year ?
I found a picture of Barbara Skinner in the White Minor at Shelsley Walsh on a very wet day in 1934....must have been a Bank Holiday !

Morris Register Rally 2015 Thoresby

I joined the line-up of Minors for the first time at The Morris Register Rally at Thoresby on 9th August.
A fine day with 11 Minors on the Sunday - (only 2 saloons). Also this year an excellent array of other Morris and related cars on display.

Silloth is a spa town and port on the Cumbrian, not Scottish, coast. I recently drove through it in the Minor which was unforgettable because the main streets are paved with granite setts which are bone-shaking !!! Flying Officer Albert Bosward DFC came from Silloth. Albert Bosward became a Commissi...

Re: AAO463

I drove past RAF Boulmer, on the Northumberland coast, while on my recent 500 mile 'Around The Edge' excursion. This Phantom jet is on display outside the base. As all things aeronautical often appear on the VMR website I thought it might be of interest. The RAF Sea King helicopter search and rescue...

Re: Drive It Day, Sunday 26th April

Out and about early in Newcastle upon Tyne on ‘Drive-It-Day’, (back in time for the London Marathon on TV... inspiring). Newcastle Quayside. Setting up for the weekly Sunday market in the shadow of the Tyne Bridge. The castle, which gives Newcastle it's name, dates from medieval times. Baltic Centre...

Dex Garage in Newcastle upon Tyne was constructed in 1930 in the Art Deco style. It was one of the the earliest provincial multi-storey parking garages to be built and the first outside London to use the staggered floor system for parking, with half-levels connected by short ramps, familiar to multi...

Re: AAO463

Spring arrived in the North East, (for today anyway) and not even enough wind to power the turbine at Blyth harbour.
