Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
Since my last post I have some catching up to do as I have had a useful few days. I noticed damp patches on the garage floor, so I had the radiator off and took it to a local repairer. They found and fixed a fairly significant leak and generally cleaned and repainted, so it now looks pretty good. I ...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
Well I managed to repair the half-shaft and OSR bearing so that's all back together. I also installed my replacement gear selectors and gear lever to improve gear changing and refilled the gearbox with AG140, although the new clutch shaft will need to wait. We then went out for a spin to the classic...
Re: AAO463

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet
Lovely video and good to be reminded of the dry part of VMR Prescott. A fabulous weekend even for the non prizewinners.

Re: Original Morris Motors body drawings found!
Ian, I would very much like to see the 1930/31 "Luxury Saloon". Presumably what we refer to as the coachbuilt saloon.

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
I have started a process of winter work. I am replacing the OSR wheel bearing and have had the half shaft flange firmly pressed on to the halfshaft. Removing the play there will (I hope) make this bearing last longer than the previous one. I also need to fix the oil leak between the flywheel housing...

Re: The Two Hemispheres Rally
Ian, due to the car shipping costs, has the idea of this rally now faded?
I must say that the way the costs are escalating would put me on the 'doubtful' list.

Re: OHC oil restrictor pin
Ian, you are of course quite right. I have just checked and my restrictor pin it is indeed brass.
Sorry to add confusion.

Re: OHC oil restrictor pin
From what I remember the last time I checked the restrictor pin, it is not brass but steel so drilling out would a little more difficult.
As Ian says Mike Dowley will have all the info.

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
I took UF for an MOT today and glad to say it passed. The brake balance was extremely good (more luck than judgment?) as I always use the John Wrigley technique when adjustment seems necessary. I also noticed that I have covered 1400 miles this year which is well over twice as far as the car travell...

Ian, for some reason the images at the top of this thread don't seem to be there. I get a box with the filename and a red cross.
Is it me or has a link failed somewhere?

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
Although the Peatling Magna Drive was called off, i still managed to find an event to join. We drove to the Kettering Auto Club meeting at the village of Bulwick about thirty miles north of Northampton. The attraction, apart from a good gathering of classic cars, was the hog roast that had been orga...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
Another day out last Sunday. This time a gentle 20 mile round trip for lunch at Stoke Bruerne, a local canal side attraction. The party consisted of MR members from Leics / Northants and Oxford. About a dozen cars with mine the only Minor. The others were all Morrises except for a 1933 Riley Monaco ...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
Ian, the Minors were Peter Yates and his 1933 saloon LV975 and Bob Worthington with the 1934 tourer TJ3818. As far as prop-shafts are concerned, I have put it all back together and will work with it for now. The other concern (one is the cost!!) with a Hardy Spicer shaft is the lack of rotational fl...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon
After the excitement of Lancs and Vulcans we had a more relaxed day yester day. A friend in Rothwell invited Morris owners for an impromptu day of activities associated with Rothwell Heritage Day. There were three Minors (my 1930 saloon, a 1933 saloon and 1934 tourer) the others varied from Flat Nos...
