Have now clocked up over 200 miles - not without incidents… a stuck exhaust valve, possibly due to tappet gap too small, (.004 cold as recommended but now .006 on the exhaust valves). Thanks Martin. Just a few finishing jobs left to do on the headlining. Then maybe the weather will warm up a bit for a few 'test flights'. I don't know if this applies to your car, or how things were originally...The boards can be attached to the chassis cross member outriggers with coach bolts before the rubber is put on. The heads can be countersunk and filled in to level the surface. This works with the boards in place but if the bo...

!934 saloon diff. Number stamped on aluminium casting: 8/43
I believe other ratios used were 6/33 and 7/37

Here are 2 articles on the subject of rear axle oil seals by Bob Bryan (together with a lot of other useful knowledge) http://www.morris8-bobbryan.co.uk/articles.php (See 'M8 Rear Axle Oil Seals' and 'M8 Rear Axle Oil Leaks') I tried non-cork seals but my experience of them was the same as Trevor's....

The near-side cork bush has the oil return thread cut in an anti-clockwise direction.The off-side bush thread is cut clockwise.
Harry Edwards published a do-it-yourself technique for making seals.
