Re: Early kingpins

By the way, sometimes it is the bushes worn, not the kingpin. If the king pins are ok I have some new bushes and also 2nd hand early kingpins...

Re: Early kingpins

£50 plus p&p would secure a set of the small type pulleys and posts.... It appears they were that cost to me, and the pins were £60. (might have been the other way round!!!)
I am looking to see if I have any early pins.

Re: Early kingpins

The batch you commisioned last time were made with the slot on the wrong side and were returned and remachined with another slot on the other side so they were reversible. I kept mine as i had sv cars so it wasn't a problem! It does mean I have a set of brand new pulleys with shackles and posts.

Re: Summer / Winter charge rate.

Would this equate to the curly wire in the terminal box on sv dynamos? My car had a piece of 2.5mm copper household wire in its place which eventually led to the dynamo burning out and i'd always wondered what would replace the wire if it was missing!?

Re: Early kingpins

I am trying to find out, will have to trawl through my accounts to find when it was and a cheque book stub to the vmr for more than £20! but if Ian is right and they were wrong then I will keep them for my sv minor and just sell the ohc pulleys that came in the set. All the other 19 sets of them see...

Re: An enigmatic Jensen Special

is it the light or are the tyres on the car blacked while the spare looks used? Also those spinners look like they are on the original hub caps which aren't minor? They look more like 10/4 ones which added to the wheels means it might not be a new car, just newly bodied? Can you blow up the picture ...

lack of oomph, low compression on 3 cylinders, drove for about 5 miles to see if rings freed up but no joy. Original engine going back into PJ to see if high oil pressure cured and this engine now on engine stand for inspection, again!!! Beginning to wonder if it would have been easier to rebuild th...

Ian, can you remind me what you are looking for! Can't find the list on the forum. I see you don't need a starter anymore, I have a late front valance but want to swap for a 32 type for the tourer.

Re: Hood colour for Hundred Pound Minor

PS do you have the early engine for it (pre chassis 5000 odd)? I know where there is one if you are looking for one!
