Ken Martin's Op.

I am sure there are many of us who will want to wish Ken Martin a speedy recovery from his back op which I understand was performed yesterday. If anybody has a bulletin on Ken's progress please let us know.

Re: Prop shafts

Halbe, My brother fitted a Hardy Spicer 'type' unit to his M Type after he had ruined a couple of cw&p due to his competition work. After that he had no further problems. At Thorpe Abbotts Halbe you will have noticed the difference when driving our cars, between Trevor's 34 model more modern arr...

Re: Yet another Minor on Ebay.

An interesting car. I agree with Mike about the reserve. I wonder if one piece screens were an option on 34 model cars? Link here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250276221653&ru=http://search.ebay.co.uk:80/250276221653_W0QQfromZR18QQfsopZ1QQsspagenameZADMEQ3aBQ3aTB2Q3aU...

Re: Daft Question.

As for vapourisation, my saloon suffered badly from this as the fuel line outlet on the firewall exited immediatly behind the exhaust manifold. After I moved the hole a couple of inches to the left my fuel vapourisation problems vanished!

Re: BCA Auctioning 1930 Minor Tourer on 22nd July

"A pile of pld bits" to a BCA man probably represents treasure trove to a VMR member! Maybe the VMR member concerned doesn't follow the forum hence his reticence to 'own up? Unlikely - but perhaps he ticked the 'no publicity' box and wishes to remain anon!

Re: BCA Auctioning 1930 Minor Tourer on 22nd July

I have just talked with BCA. The car was sold for £800 and was almost certainly purchased by a VMR member. I have a sneeking suspicion I know who it might be! Apparently the car was fitted with a Reliant Robin engine. Still very good value and another car saved.

I have just been checking the BCA website, cant find any details of the sale of this car yet. Do we know for 'how much' the car was sold?

Re: Autumn pub meets

I haven't discussed dates or venues yet with my fellow Anglians but could possibly switch back to Thriplow as not one other member has got to the Royal Oak at Barrington! Also considering an additional pub meet closer to home here in Suffolk if I can get anyone else interested?

Re: 1933 Saloon now ends 20th July

This car is back on ebay and represents incredible value for money at a Buy it now price of £1750. Its auction price (no reserve) is currently £1200. Much better value than the incomplete Stafford rolling chassis which has a start of £1200. See it here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pre-war-Morris-minor-sal...

BCA Auctioning 1930 Minor Tourer on 22nd July

The first Cammy Minor Tourer to be auctioned for some time - it comes under the hammer at the BCA Auction at Blackbushe (I think) on 22nd July. It was originally registered in Leicester and comes with boxes of spares. It surely must be of interest to someone within the register? BCA auctioned cars a...

Re: Chassis for sale

Hi Mike, Whilst you were 'away' from the forum this item was the subject of much discussion and was nearly sold to Steve Lewesley, a neighbour of mine here in Suffolk. Anyway to cut a long story very short he didn't buy it!Not an issue with the item; which can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws...

Hi Frank, Welcome to the forum! Nice car. I would say you have less to do than Halbe (although he has made a start) and that your target could be set much earlier than Halbe's pessimistic 5 years. How about the summer rally 2010?! :P Lots of help to be found here and plenty of encouragement. ...

Re: Rally Roll Call 2008

I am just about to sit down and write the rally report for the VMR mag. There is a lot to put in it! The weekend was made for me by the club members. Old friendships re-kindled, many new friends made.So many highlights and no downside. Brilliant! Chris http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii219/big_mi...

Re: Whatever happened to the Maltby Fabric Saloon?

Alister,
Its a shame you are not coming over to Suffolk at the weekend (with of course the lady 'indoors') as the we could all begin a charm offensive on your behalf and convince her that it is a very sensible thing to do!
Good luck with your quest.
Chris
