Re: 1932 McEvoy prototype RC 300

This car is now in the VSCC September newsletter, so could still be available for sale.

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon

Well after the damp and difficult days at Prescott and Thoresby, it was pleasant to spend a day with our picnic in the realtively warm sun watching aircraft displays. So this was not a Minor fest. Apart from UF there was only one other Minor there. IMGP5488s.jpg The great attractions of the day were...

Re: Autumn 2014 pub meets

I think that 11th October is a Saturday. Anyway I would expect to join in, our spring run in Leicestershire was such a success.

Re: MR Thoresby

Ian, it was on Sunday that we had the deluge. On Saturday we had a beautiful 90 mile drive to Thoresby on as many of the back lanes that we could manage. We then parked up for the night in the sun with Phil Butland baby sitting the car for me. IMGP5192vs.jpg Then on Sunday morning as we left our mot...

Re: Wheel Centres

Thanks for the thought Ian, but I bought the last two that Ian had when I was at Thoresby, hence my investigation of other options.

Wheel Centres

My 1930/31 Minor has plain discs on the wheels. I am considering finding a supplier who could reproduce something close to the originals, but with a stud on the rear and clamp plate. I have yet to finalise the design details (e.g. chrome or nickel plate, plain or black lettering) and as yet I am wai...

Re: MR Thoresby

There were actually 10 minors present at Thoresby during the weekend. Eight in the lineup, but there was also the pristine restored two seat tourer (RB6357) of Mick Roberts, and on Saturday we saw the appearance of the little fire engine (UD2682).

Re: Brake cable to rear drum attachment

I'm not sure about the M type, but the cables on my OHC Minor had the cables running over the axle which is incorrect and in particular it meant that the cables tried to lift out of the cable guides set on the top of the rear chassis cross member. I have just spent today reversing the brake cam leve...

Re: We now have a Facebook page!

I notice that until 2010 there were event photos on the "Image Galleries" pages in the website.
Can this be used again to show the pictures to the non Facebook members?
Maybe the fact that it has not been up dated since 2010 indicates the likely answer!

Re: We now have a Facebook page!

Can the Facebook page be accessed for those of us without a Facebook account?
I have no desire to join the social media revolution - Luddite that I am.

Re: 2014 Summer Rally

Yes Ian we too had a very enjoyable weekend. The rain was an interesting addition to the proceedings, but as the owner of a snug little saloon, we took it all in our stride. The hill climbs were fun, but during the tour (we did not opt for the rally) we realised that the Prescott hill is perhaps not...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon

Much water (and oil) has flowed under the bridge since my last post. Many weeks of wrestling to remove the flywheel from the beautiful Phoenix crankshaft eventually bore fruit in the shape of a block of wood through the starter motor hole and a sledgehammer!! Once the flywheel was off it was clear t...

Re: Summer Rally and Pre-War Prescott 2014

Hi Ian, I hope to be with you on Saturday to keep the tally of OHC Minors up to the 14 you predict. I am racing against time to rebuild the back end of the engine to cure a massive oil leak that developed at the PWMN Suffolk Rally. Things are looking good so far, so fingers crossed I will make it. Re: LCES Summer Rally

I was planning to be there too, but due to my well publicised oil leak problem, the car is sans gearbox and waiting for removal of flywheel and rear bell housing to renew the block to bell housing seal. Even the LCES day at the VSCC centenary rally in August clashes with MR in Thorseby. Perhaps I wi...

Re: UF 7090 1930 Coachbuilt Saloon

Further investigation has actually confirmed my worst fears. Following the video I made immediately after I returned home from the Suffolk rally, I then completely cleaned up all oil from the bottom of the engine, bell housing and sump and then started up the engine. To my horror the leak is from th...
