With the clutch depressed and any gear engaged there is nothing moving in the gearbox. Unless the car is moving!

My throttle pedal is on the right, and having also driven centre pedalled Minors I find that the right pedalled option is more comfortable. (And easier on the brain)

I use 90 in the gearbox and 140 in the axle, I found that 140 in the gearbox can be a bit sticky when cold. 8)

No,the concave side faces forward towards the front pulley.

Barrington heaving despite being wet. There is shim adjustment for the steering shaft bearings and the meshing of the peg on the drop arm shaft, also check the condition of the peg in the drop arm shaft as they tend to wear on the contact points. Replacement pegs are available. I have found the most wear tends to be between the drop arm...

I think that the rear hub nut should be FULLY tightened to lock the bearing in position on the axle casing, if it is left not tight enough the bearing can move/spin on the casing and cause damage! :shock:

I believe Simon was referring to torsional shocks and not end loading, hence the mention of lack of springs in the clutch plate. That assumes that the flexible couplings absorb some torsional shocks.

Have now tried the car on a set of Lodge CB3 plugs (The equivalent of ML50)and it is perfect, it would appear that they are not the same! :D
