If your engine is not modified and you are using an original type carb then standard would be a good place to start. If you then find the engine is running too rich or too lean you could experiment with other needles but only after checking and remedying any other causes.

Thomas, Can't answer for Halbe but leaf springs were often bound with cord in the 30's, & 40's to stiffen them for sporting purposes. My springs are greased and then bound in Denso tape (a tape developed to protect pipes and cables underground and in concrete) which does keep them lubricated and...

Yes solid wood about 1" (25mm) thick, cover as photos, outer edges aluminium angle ,some use plain others grooved, not sure what is original.

Ian, The 4 speed synchro box fitted to my early s.v. has the no's 11593 over 110 at the front and the standard 4 over 17 at the back.
