Re: A gearbox rebuild

Ian,

Sorry I did not make myself clear, the part that interests me is looking down on the lever end of the extension.

Is there a plate with a slot to guide the lever into the 4 gears?

Thanks for the photos you have posted these will help me clarify the action of the item.

David.

Re: A gearbox rebuild

Ian,

Please could we have a photo of the top of the gate, lever end, of the Derrington remote?

I have one that has four holes to screw a gate into position, I had alway assumed it to be a three speed bolt on goody.

Thanks.

"M" type steering wheel.

At Bonhams auction at Beaulieu lot 123 appears to be a "M" type steering wheel apparently in fair to good condition.

Re: VMR Summer Rally 2012

Great day on Saturday, first real "summers day" this year. A good crowd, plenty of interesting cars, the Spitfire was on time and was much appreciated. Pity circumstances dictated only a limited stay, travelling in a modern; however the date is already in the diary for next year. Hope all ...

Sorry Ian, no kidding.

M type g/b bits.

Ebay item 190689615601 looks useful. Splines look OK as far as one can tell from the photo.

Issue M141 and 10th Anniversary DVD

Ian,

Thank you for both excellent items which arrived yesterday. Hours of reading to catch up on.

In M141 the nice photo on page 13 attributed to me is not one of mine, hope whoever took the shot is not offended.

Brake cross shaft.

On a 1930 M type what provides the stop for the brake cross shaft when it is in the relaxed "brakes off" position?

There is also a "new old stock" crown wheel and pinion on the vendors other items.
