Sorry I did not make myself clear, the part that interests me is looking down on the lever end of the extension.

Is there a plate with a slot to guide the lever into the 4 gears?

Please could we have a photo of the top of the gate, lever end, of the Derrington remote?

I have one that has four holes to screw a gate into position, I had alway assumed it to be a three speed bolt on goody.

This item (Lot 123) sold for £50 inc premium.

At Bonhams auction at Beaulieu lot 123 appears to be a "M" type steering wheel apparently in fair to good condition.

On a 1930 M type what provides the stop for the brake cross shaft when it is in the relaxed "brakes off" position?

There is also a "new old stock" crown wheel and pinion on the vendors other items.
