Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden
Well, summer is soon over, autumn is approaching and with it new vigorous action in the garage. You see, laying on the garage floor is not my cup of tea when the roads are dry and free of snow! A lot of miles completed in my Alfa Romeo  and my Morris Minor (post war). But next summer... Hope b...

Front hub reassembly
Made a misstake - didn´t make note about the "asymmetric pipe spacer" (do you call it so?) that separate the inner and outer bearing. Shall I put the bigger end towards the inner bearing?

Re: Spoke question
Ian, Very tempting, but you really must do something about the weather - soon! Hope you all know how to swim :D Serious - I let you know about the rally in July! I have already desired to visit the PWMN  rally in june. I´m in great need of knowledge and possibility to study Minor construction ...

Re: Spoke question
I must add to this "discussion" that Tony Margel (Mr Spokeman) is a really nice and helpful and have contacted me about this matter. You may already know that Tony can supply new rims and spokes and e.g. all you need when it comes to minor wheels.

Re: Spoke question
There are many wheels for sale on and off on ebay, there a few right now, maybe you might get a deal . Yes I noticed that. The matter is that is´s a heavy postage UK - Sweden and, if seller don´t use Paypal I also have to pay bank transfer fee of £22. So sometimes I need to calculate three times th...

Spoke question
I need to replace some spokes. One spoke is also missing. I can´t be that difficult but in order to not make all typical beginners misstakes I turn, as so many times before , to this forum for advice.

Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden
I notice that there is a 1932 Minor on Car and Classic together with a "spare" engine. Maybe the seller would be prepared to do a deal for the engine only. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C400036 Martin Thanks Martin, I´ll check this! Hopefully I may locate an engine before June - I in...
Re: Tyres
Philip, I just received a mail from Blockley and they have still the price £44 for 350x19 and, even better, they have regular and weekly deliveries to Sweden. So four new tyres are soon delivered. But, as you can see from the attached image... I´m in no hurry... Thanks for your help! Thomas Wi...

Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden
Engine forgery – but why? When I bought the little Morris my knowledge of old pre war Morris was limited, not to say almost zero. And I didn´t have the time for a close inspection when I collected it. Yes, Yes … I know! You just don´t do so  And, my dear Thomas, how is it possible to miss the...

Re: Tyres
Looking for tires for my £100 Minor. None of the links in this thread seems to work. I found this Dunlop 400 19: http://www.bribos.com/intra_modul_webbutik.php?go=visaprodukt&pr_id=252 And this 350 19: http://www.bribos.com/intra_modul_webbutik.php?go=visaprodukt&pr_id=11 Both rather expensi...

Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden
I only have eyes for … When dismantling the leaf springs I was really terrified. I could wiggle the springs in all directions… ugh! The eyes was worn, the bolts were worn and I went inside for seeking comfort with a cup of coffee – feeling a bit worn out myself. The spring eyes .jpg New bolts – no ...

Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden
Brake trough The brakes gave me more trouble than expected. First the shoes. After inspection it was clear that only three of eight shoes were good enought to reline. Brake shoes kopia.jpg The three brake shoes at the right was OK But I was lucky and find five good shoes by my forum friend Toby. To...
