Re: SV Minor for GBP 1,000
There are two phone numbers on the advert. I think the one at the bottom may be a premium rate number put on by the magazine. If this is the case, the magazine will probably make money from this which may explain why the advert hasn't been removed!

Re: SV Minor for GBP 1,000
I remember seeing this car for sale several months ago in either classic car weekly or classic car mart. I phoned it but it had soon the same day the advert was published. I've just phoned it again to double check just in case it was back on the market but it has definately sold back in August. The ...

The January Automobile
There is an article in Januarys Automobile (already on the shelf) on the White Minor. I haven't read it yet but the pictures look good. This car is perhaps the 'closest' / 'equivalent' thing we have in the minor world to the works twin cam austins. Its proof to those Austin seven folk that the morri...

Original Finishes
Perhaps not the most exciting topic to try and kick start some disccussion on the forum but anyway... I took the lucas 6v. starter motor off my side valve engine with the intention of cleaning it and giving it a paint. Having cleaned it, there are signs that it was originally had a sort of dull nick...

Side Valve Superchargers
I've been interested in superchargin sv. engines also. The Record Breaking car used a vertically mounted powerplus supercharger driven from a bevel drive provided on a modified timing case. When this car was rebuilt by Carl Skinner in 1933 and was fitted with a zoller supercharger blowing at 24psi. ...

Hybrid Bonnet
I have a spare bonnet. I think its off a morris minor / morris eight hybrid van. The type the GPO used. It has two bonnet catches on each side and at the rear it is cut away from the sides. ( in other words the sides don't have a vertical straight edge agaist the scuttle but are inclined ) If any on...

spring rear hangers
I visited a man building a long chassis morris special in devon. He has reamed and bushed the spring hangers with out un-riveting them from the chassis. He used a local machinest who made up a simple jig that attached to the chassis rails so that he could drill at a perfect right angle to the chassi...
