Re: Summer Rally and Pre-War Prescott 2023

The following is an extract from our June Newsletter, circulated today: So, let’s get straight to it up front. In early May, while preparing the Pre-War Prescott Programme for the printers, I contacted the Bugatti Owners Club to confirm our date for PWP 2024, as I always like to include next year’s ...

Re: Summer Rally and Pre-War Prescott 2023

Great news. This morning I received the document pack from the MoD along with confirmation of the Spitfire and Hurricane displays for the day. Should be quite a sight and sound!

Re: Summer Rally and Pre-War Prescott 2023

With just two months to go today, we are in the final planning stages for a fabulous day at Prescott and an equally fabulous weekend of rallying and fun in the glorious Cotswolds. We have a tremendous variety of Edwardian, vintage and pre-war cars entered and of course entries remain open. As of tod...

Re: Summer Rally 2024 dates

An update. Here's what I, and all other clubs who hire Prescott are currently being told about Prescott 2024 dates by the Bugatti Owners' Club: "With regards to 2024 dates, council are still in discussions as to how many private hire events we will be allowing, and which ones they will be, so I...

And here is Catherine and Emilia trying out the CMS for size. Welcome to the Register and the Forum, guys.

All wonderful stuff and it will be so good to see this great car being actively campaigned.

The VMR's 25th Anniversary

If you can't wait to the Centenary of the Morris Minor in 2028, plan to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Register in 2025!

The Register was founded at Prescott in the summer of 2000 and so we have a great deal to celebrate.

Planning will start shortly on our 2025 celebrations.

Jack Blyth is turning 90 - send him a card

Longstanding members will know Jack. He was a founder member and famously came to our inaugural rally in 2001 from his home in New Zealand loaded down with spares for everyone. He's campaigned his fabric saloon for decades. He's now in care and not doing so well, having recently broken a hip. He has...

Summer Rally 2024 dates

Just a quick note to say that I have asked the Bugatti Owners Club if we can hold Pre-War Prescott 2024 on Saturday 20th July. I try to keep it on the third Saturday of July every year so that people, and particularly overseas people, can plan ahead. I have been told that the BOC Council is currentl...

Re: 1929 tourer WE 6554

Definitely time for another update. Lawrence Bleasdale, who is caring for the car at his farm in Bromyard at the moment, sent some engine oil for analysis, and it has white metal in it. Not good news but not unexpected. I don't think the engine has been rebuilt since John Peckham rebuilt the car in ...

I'm old fashioned and use Straight 30, but I know others use 20/50. Just avoid Hypoid oils which eat any bronzed in the bearings.

Re: MU3485

So your fabric saloon is a 1931 season model (chassis M32249) and as such has the 'leather grain' steel bonnet which was also fitted to the fabric-bodied 2-seater which was only produced for the 1931 season. All the earlier fabric saloons had plain bonnets, like the steel saloons, tourers and vans. ...
