Re: Austin Morris Day, Brooklands, 9th March

Hope to go with the CMS but it is weather dependant, 150 miles in torrential rain and high winds is masochism not fun.

Re: Carb needle

If your engine is not modified and you are using an original type carb then standard would be a good place to start. If you then find the engine is running too rich or too lean you could experiment with other needles but only after checking and remedying any other causes.

Re: VG 2007

Thomas, Can't answer for Halbe but leaf springs were often bound with cord in the 30's, & 40's to stiffen them for sporting purposes. My springs are greased and then bound in Denso tape (a tape developed to protect pipes and cables underground and in concrete) which does keep them lubricated and...

Re: SV2612 - a restoration project in Sweden

Thomas,
A chap called Brian, UK phone no. 01782 515802 has been advertising a s.v. engine dismantled for reconditioning and various other minor parts. Could be worth a phone call (he doesn't seem to have an e-mail address).

Re: M type brake back plates

Yes, it was I! The jig is completed, used and can be loaned if anyone wants to collect or pay the postage. My experience with these back plates falls into three categories, those that have been brazed or gas welded without a jig and are hopelessly distorted, those that are so corroded that the bushe...
