yes Ian i understand what yuo say but 2nd gear on prudence also agnes is quiet. so also was dorothy quiet before she was lent. This is why she is no pleasure to drive hence my request for help in fitting a reconditioned one. i hope someone who can help will telephone me 01162478284. regards b.

I do npt know the reason but second gear on dorothy (1929 ohc tourer 3 speed box) is very noisy. my prefered solution is to get a well reconditioned gearbox and swap it over. can anyone help? I would either buy outright or exchange after fitting the new one.

yes Dorothy was with david cooksey.his brief was only to rebuild the engine the prop shaft and to make specific repair to the ash frame.all of this seems well done. the othe problems were not expected and because the car was very late in coming back to me I have not been able to use her as wanted ov...

re fabric prop shaft couplings. I have several in stock if anyone has a problem. they have 6 holes to join two three arm spiders. i have had a failure at 35 mph which is why i keep spares. message for ian grace yes dorothy is back which part of the forum shall i tell you about her and progress ?

hello chris and ian. thanks ian for explanation that i must have found sv drums that needed flanges reduced, but they still squeal.i look forward to trying your jubilee clips chris v kind of you chris to send me a set.about the gaiters tightened by lh/rh threaded bolt.... one wheel has this aleady. ...

the brakes of prudence ohc squeal so badly just before stopping that i use hand brake to spare embarrasment. i use m dowley linings which i rivet on . some days ago i fitted a pair of heavier drums i found from the rims of which i had to remove about 20 thou to fit. it has not made any difference ex...

yes i know him well. he lives near me and works from small garage at home.he rebuilt the steering arms and linkages for one of my cars. he makes all the morris doughnuts.he has a great box of old nuts and bolts and found me a left handed nut for agnes steering arm recently. brian m
