The two pins shown in the photo made life a lot easier when replacing the clutch and gearbox with the engine in the car. On the centre rod, at about the mid point there is a hole to carry a ball(s).

Should there be one or two balls in this hole?

Assume there is no spring

It was suggested that I try Red Line lightweight shockproof gear oil.

It is a synthetic specifically formulated for straight cut gears

The result is less noise and easier gear changes.

How have others found this product?

In the 1929 Minor manual it states of the brake shoes :- .......care must be taken to see that they are replaced in the right position. The spring eyes are not quite in the centre of the shoes, but are offset. The shoes should be replaced so that the spring eyes are on that half of is the shoe which...

Ian, thank you for all your efforts in organizing a super day at Prescott today despite the awful weather. Sorry to have let the side down by using a modern but 120 mile round trip in an M type is no longer the fun or challenge, in pouring rain, that it would have been 50 years ago. Must be getting ...
