Differential
Hi Guys can anyone give me some information regarding rebuilding the diff in a 1929 Morris Minor. I have stripped it down and replaced all the bearing in it. However I cannot quite see how the pinion gear should be set up so that it is in mesh with crown wheel Properly. I have refitted the shims bet...
Re: M18904
Thanks Ian,
Lovely photo. There was no sign of rubber between the band on our drums. I will fit a thin strip in that case for originality sake.
Thanks,
Bruce

Re: M18904
Started work on the front axle and brakes today. We have a pair of wide rim drums, so have decided to fit these to the front axle in an effort to help with the marginal braking. The rear drums had a strap round, which I assume is designed to help stiffen the drums up. It had a double ended bolt with...

Re: Rear wheel bearings.
Hi Peter
I believe there should be a thin steel washer between the felt washer and the bearing and another on the outside of the felt to keep it all in the right place. If this is refitted I see no reason why the felt would damage the seal on the bearing

Smiths Shock Absorbers
Hi Guys I have just started rebuilding a 1929 Cammy Minor. Would like some advice on the Smiths Shock absorbers. I have been advised by Graham Brown at VCSA that the correct material is not available for the linings anymore and suggested leather would be very good to use. So I have tracked down some...
