Re: RT 8431

Well, I haven't been on here in quite a while... Sorry, I haven't done a lot on RT as other projects have gotten in the way mainly getting my land rover ready for the road, along with school work and searching for an apprenticeship. Not a huge amount has happened with RT, However, we've had the dyna...

Re: 1934 Winged calormeter on Ebay

Ahhh, brilliant, I didn't even think of looking there, I assumed they'd be something fairly unique to the morris and would be unobtainable.
Thanks

Out of interest, are the wings easy to pick up in decent condition, ours aren't great.
Thanks

Rickinghall Pub meet

First outing for RT today. A good local meet, with 5 minors and Clive Hall's MG B as his Minor had an electrical problem. Two others who were hoping to attend weren't able to be present. Nigel Tuckers 32 sports coupe was also present so there was a lot of comparing of little details between the two....

Thanks

Re: oil burning

Just from what I've learned from working with other "stuff"
Is there any kind of breather on these engines to allow for any slight blow by on the rings. If so check that thats not blocked, as the crank case will pressurise and it will force oil up the bores.

Re: RT 8431

Andrew, Still haven't found the inspection plate, although I know I have one somewhere. Since time is short for your MOT you had better make something up. I have just had a look at mine which is an MG one in solid alloy and the vents - below and above the fixing bolt - are on the right hand side. R...

Re: RT 8431

Andrew, The clutch inspection plate is shaped in a particular way with vents in it. Put it on the wrong way and oil gets sucked into the clutch housing. You are better off fitting the proper thing than making one. I will have a look to see if I have one somewhere - unless there's someone out there ...

Re: RT 8431

Right, the timing adjustment made a huge difference, It now goes well. Only a couple of jobs left, make and fit a clutch inspection plate, and the floor board to go over it and find a new head lamp glass I also need to have another look at the wiring, I think there is a loose connection on one of th...
