26th dec on quest tv channel the programme salvage hunters have just visited a motoring memorabilia dealer, long story short there was a chrome rad minor under mountains of stuff. I think it was also a van..... couldn't see a reg no....

I was lucky enough to get to Goodwood on the 15th to see the spits and hurricanes take off for their various sorties around the southern UK.... Awesome sights and sounds........... Well, I've never heard of anyone having bolts fail, so if they've been good enough to last 85 yrs on my car, I think I'll leave them be.........

This might be the reason you're lacking in acceleration.........

have you removed the fuel inlet into the carb.... there is probably a fine filter in there, if its full of crap the car will run, but could easily be low on power!!

Kenny, this could be several issues, first one i would check is throttle movement, ie, whilst you may be pushing the throttle pedal quite firmly, are you actually geting full movement on the carb spindle...... i looked at one car last yr, and he only had about 2/3rds spindle travel, and no-one could...

HI ian, not much minor ish going on in my garage i'm afraid.,........ too much else happening, recently bought an old mx5 (yes japanese) for use simply as a track day toy, and as such have just also bought a trailer on which to carry it, which as it happens is the perfect size to carry a minor.........

I use the advance/retard in retard to start the engine, and once running i advance and leave it there, unless i leave her ticking over for a while then i might retard it to slow the tick over a little............

I assume everyone that has fitted this distributor has also added a seperate earth point, as, especially with the o rings you're effectively isolating the dizzy from the block, or even without them if the dizzy is loose it's less likely to get a good and constant earth, when MT's engine was rebuilt ...
