Congratulations Halbe!

You are a brave man buying an unseen motor car, I hope it all works out OK. Is this instead of an MG M type, or as well as?

I understand that the OHC ratio is 4.88:1 (9/44) - see the Technical Section - but Morris 8 and SV Minor are different and if fitted to an M would produce great acceleration but a much lower top speed. This is a pity because Morris 8 crownwheel and pinion sets are reasonably easy to find. I believe...

Black Balled

If you listen to the grapevine within the VSCC I'm afraid the campaign for equality with the Austin Seven, i.e. the admission of sidevalve cars on to the PVT list was thought to be rather rammed down the VSCC throat a bit, and upset what is described as 'The Powers That Be'. It was a bit like the co...

The White Horse - Harwell

As I only finished fitting halfshafts and rear wheel bearings at 12.30pm on 01.01.08 I gave up thoughts of the Phoenix at H/W and motored to the White Horse at Harwell Oxon. This is a local (to me) old car meeting place for all old car enthusiasts combining the Austin 7 & 12 Clubs, the MG Car Cl...

Dear Halbe Latest info on MG in photo is: 'According to the MGCC Register it is a K2 (c/n K2001) fitted with a Jensen body that was previously on a K3 (K3025). The car now seems to have the reg. no. UVF 19' This came via the VSCC forum website which is a truly wonderous source of infomation. One of ...

Astons & M types

Here's a picture of Halbe's Aston. See his post on the previous page. Halbe is looking for an M Type. http://www.vintageminor.co.uk/Forumpix/P1010189.jpg Lovely Car Halbe! VMR Future

I agree that Ian has done a sterling job with the VMR and should be congratulated on all his hard work; he really has gone beyond the call of duty! :) I however do not feel that the VSCC can, or should be blamed, because they would not fall in to line with Ian's proposals. I was pleased with the rev...
