VMR Summer Rally 2007

Folks, Just a quick line to kick off the thread. 27th to 29th July, Milton Abbas, Dorset. The Rally website will go 'live' at the end of January. In the meantime, I have located two fine hotels - each with about ten rooms available, and have block booked them both for the weekend. Our weekend coinci...

Minor Dynamos

To jump start the Forum after the Christmas break, Roger Lucke and I are preparing a 'definitive' article on Minor dynamos and third brush electrickery for M 127 - explaining how they work, what to do when they go wrong and how to test them - in and out of the car. If anyone has any relevant input -...

Herewith my support for the VMR mag on line. The advantages of instant release, fully searchable contents, and a lower sub are pretty compelling. I look forward to a successful trial. John McDonald New Zealand John, what is the standard paper size in New Zealand and Australia - presumably A4? The U...

A few pics from the last couple of years - note in pic 2 the snow piled up last spring (and it's back again already!), just as the engine was being installed. Pic 4 was taken moments after the first firing up this spring. The final pic was taken a couple of weeks ago on the second run up the lane. h...

Use of original parts?

Here’s a question that has crossed my mind many times while in the workshop, but I have never come up with a completely satisfactory answer one way or the other. So you are in the workshop restoring your car. You have two similar components to select from – one which came off your car and the other ...

VMR Prescott 2008

Just spoke to the VSCC and had to move the date from Saturday 5th July to Saturday 12th July because of a clash with Shelsley on the 5th. So now trying to get the CSMA to shift the Proms concert at Sudeley Castle from the 5th to the 12th so we can meet at the Castle in the evening - concert, battle ...
