Re: M 131 Editorial

Ian, Have you ever compared Minor production figures with Austin figures and taking into account exports? I wondered if any conclusions could be drawn regarding survival rates in the UK. Also have you read "The Life of Lord Nuffield" (1955). It has lots of interesting info plus good pictur...

Re: M 131 Editorial

I agree with Halbe. I know it is from a standpoint of attempting to recreate a Minor saloon out of a box of tin moth and woodworm dust and it is a daunting task. I am not the sort of person to give up a project but I recognise and appreciate the help, information and comradeship of the VMR. I have m...

Oh Dear! Despite all the interest it once again failed to meet the reserve. Why would anyone not want the de luxe version I wonder?

Re: 1931 £100 Minor on eBay ends 18th May

Thanks for that Tony, did the black paint extend to the wind screen surround? i have enlarged the picture and I don't think it is reflection but if it is why is it a double reflection. Also the bottom of the door looks a bit ridgy..

Re: 1931 £100 Minor on eBay ends 18th May

The radiator surround looks as though it has been painted black to me as has the windscreen surround.
Also are the wierd patches on the lower bodywork normal. Also do they extend to the lower part of the door or is it my eyes are even worse than I think? Should there be side lamps?

Re: Fabric covering of 1929 instrument boards

Greetings Ian. NG has a fabric covered dash but some handy man has hacked a couple of glove compartments in it and also screwed a couple of those old ceramic domestic light switches on plus an ashtray so I am making a new dash board. I will therefore send you a piece of the fabric covering, 4inchesx...

Re: The Non Minor related thread

We were driving through Brussels on the way back from Italy when we picked up Radio 4 for the first time for 3 weeks. The first episode of "Clue" was being aired and I simply could not concentrate on winding my way through the usual roadworks present in those days so we settled into a comf...

Re: VG2007

Hi Halbe,

Regarding the tray, I have a sheet metal fabricator friend and if you can provide an accurate drawing I can ask him how much he would charge to make some trays up in case other people might like one.

They also have made in England stamped plus FRONT so perhaps they are not Morris but MG or even (as usual on NG) something entirely different!

Re: NG 850

Returning to the discussion on piston sizes-I have cleaned the grunge from a couple of pistons and they have +40 stamped on them plus the letter R if that means anything.
