Re: 1929 OHC saloon on EBay
Interesting comments. Bren handled the bidding. I shall reserve our response until I see what we have let ourselves in for. 'M' cant be as bad as NG and I am hoping that the latest acquisition may become a rolling restoration without too much effort and cost. We shall see and of course I will keep e...

Re: NG 850
When we met Chris and Norma for a beer a couple of Sundays ago we were able to investigate how a Minor Saloon floor went together. This inspired me to put saw to wood and I have now got a floor board kit which fits together with the two bits of the original body I have been able to save (shown in bl...

It is a bargain and I was tempted but what would I have done with the bits of NG?

Re: Daft Question.
I don't know whether this is true or not but someone once told me that the damp, being water, h2o, means their is more oxygen to aid combustion, ???????????
All I know is NG has had too much damp in the wrong places in the past!

Re: Rally Roll Call 2008
Chris, In spite of the late night I just had to leap out of bed to say what a great evening we had last night. It was really nice to meet with such pleasant people and to see some pristine Minors arriving. The venue was great and how you arranged the flypasts ... well the imagination boggles. We wer...

Re: Rally Roll Call 2008
Ian, sorry to hear of your troubles. An old school buddy, Paul Kingston, who you may know as he was in the RAF is involved with aerospace out in the USA so some one told me. If the Grand rapids thing doesn't work out he may be worth searching out to see if he knows of anything. ATB Clive. ps I think...

Re: Prop shafts
I think there may be a potential problem in jacking up the chassis to let the axle hang. I have NG jacked up like this at the moment and if I attach the propshaft to the CWP it will sit on the chassis cross member at an angle of about 30degrees to the horizontal I guess. Of course I may have got the...

Re: Halfshaft flanges!
Hi Toby,
In my MG PA days (1961) I always made up some paper gaskets and also put a smidgen of hermetite, Seemed to work for me.
If oil does leak it makes your brake pads last longer and stops the drums rusting.

Re: The Non Minor related thread
I purchased a tube of Gas Tight yesterday £4.66!!! It was called Hermatite when I last worked on a proper car 40 + years ago. It was not as gooy as I remeber but--the smell is exactly the same and the memories just came flooding back. I hadn't realised exactly what it was that made my MG TC smell li...

Re: Car tax in the UK
Ian, I don't think anyone including the Government knows what is happening. Gordon seems to be wanting to be Green, his back benchers want him to go, they are scared of appointing another unelected PM and they would probably lose an election at the moment so all is in a state of flux. Thats what I t...

Hi Chris,
I see from the details this is an 1100cc engine. Is this something else I need to learn about Minors? Clive
