I think there may be a potential problem in jacking up the chassis to let the axle hang. I have NG jacked up like this at the moment and if I attach the propshaft to the CWP it will sit on the chassis cross member at an angle of about 30degrees to the horizontal I guess. In my MG PA days (1961) I always made up some paper gaskets and also put a smidgen of hermetite, Seemed to work for me.

If oil does leak it makes your brake pads last longer and stops the drums rusting.
