I am restoring an MG J2. The Engine Block is an 'M' Type. I understand I can replace a 6Volt dynamo with 12volt field coils. The casing of my Local 12v has been severely ground paper thin at one end and a braze repair is on the top casing. A REMAX dynamo would be more desirable but Lucas will do.

The key is to first make several the cork gaskets and then soak them in oil for several days. Actually I keep a small sealed jar for corks in oil for the petrol tap and SU Carb. Actually my current tap cork has sealed for some 7 years and I always turn the tap on and off.
